1950 - 2010

From the days she aspired to become Reginetta del Mare in 1949, under the name Scicolone, until today as Loren,
a timeless icon of beauty,
Sophia has appeared on more than 3000 magazine covers,
which are listed alphabetically in this section, with images in a chronological sequence for each year.  This section is updated on a regular basis.

The first magazine cover featuring Sophia dates from September 10, 1950 as she was randomly picked among all participants
at the Miss Italia contest to appear on the Italian weekly Illustrato magazine.

The Palme d'or of all magazines goes without a doubt to German magazine Bunte with 65 Sophia covers starting in 1956.
No wonder Sophia won the Bambi award in Germany as Most Popular Foreign Actress 8 times out of 10 in the sixties.

Some entries featured may be magazine back covers, in which case they are always full-page pictures.

Do you have any cover magazine scans from 1950 up to today which are not listed on this site?
