Sophia is placed amoung a group of slaves surrounding Deborah Kerr who acts as Lygia while her mother Romilda is placed in the crowd as an extra too.

Nella Rivolta, the wife of Sophia's father, Riccardo Scicolone, shows up at Cinecittà on casting day in Rome and provokes the first family confrontation.
